Full Weekend - Dress & Ikea!

Last weekend, Lance and I went to Atlanta for two reasons. 1) For Lance to attend a Bachelor Party for his fraternity brother, Kyle, that is getting married in September. 2) To purchase my wedding dress!!! Kim, Brenna and I went to my favorite wedding dress shop in Atlanta, Treasures Formal to see my favorite consultant Lauren.

Like I said before, I was down to two dresses and here is the one that I purchased:

Sophia Tolli Demetria

Small Preview

While in Atlanta, Kim (Lance's Mom) and I went shopping at Ikea!! I picked up a couple things for our first house that we will be moving into on October 28th. I can't wait to decorate the whole house exactly how I want to. Here's a little preview on what I picked up at Ikea and a couple items I'll probably go back and pick up on our next visit to Atlanta in November:

Pyra Wok - Only $4.99

Dark Gray King Sheet Set

4- Bottle Wine Rack - Only $9.99
So I bought 2!!

Some items on my wish list. I'll definitely purchase these next time:

Gray Rug - Only $19.99
We are going to measure our new house this week and see what size rug we will need in our dinning room. If this rug is large enough I will definitely purchase this one. It's so pretty!

Bleached Merete Curtains - Only $19.99
These will go great with my gray and white rug above.

I found some great gray floral duvet set that would go great with my new dark gray sheets, but Ikea didn't have them in a King Size set. Booo! I'll have more pictures of furniture that we are purchasing for our first home and after pics of my decorating skills.

Furniture Finds For Our First Home

Here are some of my furniture finds that I found searching online. These are all from Ashley Furniture (except my damask dinning room head chairs) and all around the style of items that I would want to purchase for my first home. I like modern lines with traditional and unique elements like my wedding that is coming up in less than a year!!! The 365 day countdown began on Friday!!!

Ashley Furniture Dinning Set and China Cabinet

Damask Dinning Room Chairs from Pier 1 Imports (2)

Matching Bar Stools for Our New Island (2)

Black Modern Sleeper Sofa

Comfy Over-sized Chair and Ottoman

Instead of the Comfy Chair- Could Do A Formal Accent Chair

Coffee Table and End Tables

King Size Comforter Set

Unique Square Lamp (2)

More pictures of furniture and inside my home as I begin to decorate after we close around the end of October. Can't wait to decorate, paint and refurbish furniture. I'll be going antiquing too!!

Sunday Morning Breakfast

This morning I made a big breakfast for Lance and I with eggs, bacon, hashbrowns and toast. Nothing like a big breakfast before heading to the driving range.

A Save the Date Option

Here's a Save the Date option from the Magnet Street. I love the simplicity of it!! I would definitely change the light blue color at the bottom to light gray and our wedding website text would need to be black. Once we get our engagement pictures, I'd pick a different picture as well because Lance looks so young in this picture. The blue tie matches perfect though!!! Love Lance's tie that I bought him.

Busy Saturday Tomorrow

Lance and I have a busy Saturday planned tomorrow and it's full of wedding activities with a touch of pampering. First thing in the morning, bright and early at 8:30 a.m. I will get my hair did with a cut and color. I'm planning on just getting a trim and filling in my roots with blondness. Here are my inspirational pictures.

Hayden Panettiere

My favorite REESE WITHERSPOON

Carrie Underwood

Next, Lance and I will be meeting our potential wedding photographer. He is Michael Doerman where his packages start at $1,100 and his pictures are great! There's one couple on this website where they held their reception at the same place the we are, good ole Old Hickory Country Club in Hermitage, TN.

It's our Reception Venue!!!

The Old Hickory Country Club has a beautiful golf course!!

Lastly, Lance and I will be shopping, shopping, shopping for our registry!!! We are definitely registering at Target, Williams-Sonoma, Honeymoon website and Macy's or Bed, Bath and Beyond. We haven't quite decided on the last one because Lance won't let me look online. He wants us to do it together in the beginning and then of course I will take over the online shopping and stalk each item as it's purchased.

If you can think of any store that I missed, please let me know. :)

Wedding Weekend Recap

Here are the dresses that I decided to wear to Sarah Elizabeth's wedding. It was a beautiful Rehearsal Dinner and a gorgeous wedding. I really didn't take very good pictures last weekend at all, but Gray Photography took the best wedding pictures ever.

My New Blue Dress

The Rehearsal Dress only because the Bridesmaid dresses were blue and I didn't want to clash.

Strapless Bow Dress

The dress I chose for the wedding because I haven't wore it in awhile. I quickly remembered why I haven't wore it in awhile -- I had to pull it up a million times because I felt like it was going to fall down.

My Bridesmaids Trying on Bridesmaids Dresses

While in Michigan last weekend, I had all of my bridesmaids (except Erin because she lives in Montgomery, AL) try on bridesmaid dresses for me at David's Bridal and Lett's Bridal. Here's the madness with 7 girls trying on dresses.

(We missed you Miss Erin!!)

This is the dress that I think we are going to end up going with because the majority thought it was the most comfortable. I really didn't want strapless, but I may have them make it a one shoulder dress depending on what wedding dress I choose. This dress comes with spaghetti straps and I think I'll have them use both straps on one shoulder. I have to go to David's Bridal and test it out though before I have all of the bridesmaids alter their dress this way.

As you can see all of the girls tried on numerous dresses and we are going with none of these colors in the picture above. We are going with Horizon Blue, which is below.

Horizon

Here's a couple pictures of other wedding parties wearing this dress for all of their bridesmaids.
